Course Overview:

  • Introduces basic fiber types, including natural, synthetic and semi- synthetic.
  • Explores fiber manufacturing processes, fiber properties, and fiber to yarn processing, including ring spinning, open-end spinning and air-jet spinning technologies.
  • Investigates fiber and fabric dyeing methods, quality test methods for fibers and fabrics and their respective quality advantages and disadvantages.
  • Examines recycled fibers and the overall sustainability of textile-related products.
