Staple Yarn Spinning Fundamentals provides attendees with basic concepts of the yarn spinning process.

Participants will:

•  Learn key principles of fiber opening, bale lay down, blending, and
  carding
• Explore fiber manufacturing processes, fiber properties and fiber to
  yarn processing, including ring spinning, open-end spinning and air-jet
  spinning technologies
• Investigate fiber and yarn quality test methods and their respective
  quality advantages and disadvantages
• Understand the difference between direct and indirect yarn
  numbering systems, and how to calculate yarn counts
• Have hands-on activities with Textile Technology Center specialists
